Parent Partners
Parent Partners have lived experience and success navigating their own sobriety and family reunification. Thru Tru Vista they now provide peer-to-peer support to parents in Safe Babies Court. Working closely with individuals, Parent Partners guide them on their recovery journey and advise them on how to work within the court and child welfare systems. Parent Partners help parents set and achieve goals to successfully and safely reunite with their children. Parent Partners develop a supportive relationship that can make the difference in a client’s successful completion of their mandated court program. Tru Vista Parent Partners are trained/certified Peer Recovery Support Supervisors.
Parent Navigators
Peer mentors with lived experience, provide outreach to pregnant persons who are struggling with substance use. Through our confidential hotline, concerned community members or the pregnant person can reach out for guidance. Parent Navigators work to engage women in order to connect them with the services they need to improve the quality of their lives and their prospects for delivery. Tru Vista maintains a catalog of service providers who are prepared to support pregnant people in recovery and work toward the best income for parents and children. Peer Navigators are familiar with child dependency cases and can provide advice to help parents avoid involvement after delivery and beyond.
Parents’ Voice Consulting Services
Tru Vista provides consulting services to Infant and Toddlers Court Programs throughout Nevada. Our Parent Partners, Parent Navigators and Parent Leads have been invited to advise on various projects for Nevada Supreme Court, National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, the National Infant and Toddler Court program, and Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Nevada grant holders to ensure that parents’ voices are heard and represented in decision making. Various stakeholder now recognize the value of listening to the families to develop services and programs that meet their needs. By bringing parents’ representatives with lived experience to the table, Tru Vista has become a respected partner in setting policy and developing responsive court programs with the family at the heart.
